Contour Graphs

There's another kind of plot that can be in graphs. It's called a Contour plot. This is an example.

As is typical with graphs of this nature, the lines indicate places where the value of the variable, z in this case, is constant. Labels tell what contours go with what values.

The contour plot is very similar to the surface plot. In fact, all the work is hidden from view here; all you have to do is describe where the surface is that is to be covered with contours, and the variable that the contours are to be isobars of, and Theorist does the rest.

Therefore, you can put a contour plot and suspend it in space the same way you would do with a surface plot.

In this case, we added a surface underneath the contour lines so that it is easier to see.
